hi. im new here. this month i have to calculate the salary for all workers in my office. can you tell me the correct calculation for over time?
basic / 26days or 30day@31days?
rate overtime for weekday, weekend and public holiday?
if the no of overtime is 2hours and half, how to calculate it?

Hi,
To calculate OT, you have to determine the OT multiplier first. Normally OT is calculated at 1.5 times the normal rate, but it would be 2 times during public holidays.
To calculate the hourly rate for the purpose of OT, you may consider:
case 1:
assuming in a year, No of Public Holidays = 16, No of Non Work Days (i.e. weekend for 5-day week) = 104
Total no of work days = 365 - 16 - 104 = 245
Average work days per month = 245 / 12 = 20.42
Then for OT base rate = Salary / 20.42 / 8
case 2:
Calculate work day on a monthly basis, assuming in a particular month, No of Public Holidays = 1, No Of Non Work Days = 9
Total no of work days for current month = 31 - 1 - 9 = 21
Then for OT base rate = Salary / 21 / 8
